Terms and Conditions of “Kurnia My Dream Home” Contest
The “Kurnia My Dream Home” (“Contest”) is organized by AmGeneral Insurance Berhad (“Organizer” and trading under the retail brand of Kurnia Insurans) with My Build Easy Sdn. Bhd. (BuildEasy) as the Official Partner solely responsible for all renovation works. By entering the Contest, you agree to be bound by and comply with these terms and conditions, which shall form a valid and binding agreement between you and the Organizer. The Organizer reserves the rights to amend, add to or remove any of these Terms and Conditions at its sole discretion without prior notice.
Contest Period:
1. The Contest commences at 00:00 hours Malaysia time on 3 August 2016 and ends at 23:59 hours Malaysia time on 30 August 2016 (“Contest Period”). On 16 August 2016, the Contest Period is extended from 3 August until 23 August 2016.
2. The Organizer may at its sole and absolute discretion extend the Contest Period (“Extended Period”) at any time without any prior notice. Any participation in the Contest during the Extended Period (if any) shall be governed by these terms and conditions, which shall remain in full force and effect.
Eligibility
3. Only a Qualified Participant is eligible for the Contest. To be a Qualified Participant, the participant must be:
- a resident of Malaysia holding either a valid MyKad or MyPR;
- aged eighteen (18) years and above as at 3 August 2016; and
- a valid Facebook account at the time of participation of the Contest.
4. The following persons are not eligible to participate in the Contest:
- Permanent and/or contract employees of the Organizer (and its subsidiaries, affiliates and related companies) and their immediate family members (i.e. spouse, parents, children, siblings and their respective spouses) or persons living in the same households of such employees, whether or not related; and
- Representatives and/or agents (including advertising agents and contest management agents) of the Organizer and their immediate family members (i.e. spouse, parents, children, siblings and their respective spouses) or persons living in the same households of such representative and/or agents, whether or not related.
The Contest & Submission:
5.0 A Qualified Participant must successfully complete the following steps to participate in the Contest:
- Vote for one (1) of four (4) BuildEasy room designs on the Contest Facebook application on Kurnia Insurans Facebook page.
- Based on the room design voted, write a creative caption on why the room design is chosen. Caption must be in less than 30 words and have a mention of Kurnia Insurans within the caption to be included as part of submission prerequisite.
- Fill in the required details in the form provided in the Contest Facebook application.
5.1 Participants are encouraged to share the Contest via the available social media platforms. Sharing of Contest does not influence or dictate the Contest result.
5.2 Winners will be selected by a panel of jurors appointed by the Organizer at its sole discretion based on the following criteria:
- Most voted Build Easy room design for each category (Living Room and Bedroom).
- Creativity of captions on why the room design is chosen.
5.3 There is no limit to the number of entries that each Qualified Participant may submit during the Contest Period or Extended Period.
5.4 The Organizer takes no responsibility or assumes no liability for the comment and/or content that any participant may post in any nature whatsoever. Participants are solely responsible for consequences of posting and publishing their captions and/or contents.
5.5 The Organizer may, in its sole discretion, disqualify any entry which the Organizer considers to have made been in breach of these terms and conditions. This includes, but not limited to, failure to meet Contest eligibility criteria or entry that contains obscene, libellous, racially and religiously disparaging, defamatory, harassing or threatening or unlawful content.
5.6 The Organizer will not be responsible for entries for the Contest that cannot be processed due to technical or operational reasons. Entries that are lost, misdirected, incorrect, incomplete or illegible, for any reason whatsoever, will be disqualified.
5.7 A panel of jurors consisting of representatives of the Organizer will review all Contest entries and select the winners for the Contest based on creativity of the caption. The decision of the panel of jurors will be final and no correspondence will be entertained.
5.8 Only captions in English and Malay languages are accepted.
Prizes:
6.0 One (1) Winner will be selected for each Category (Living Room and Bedroom) during the Contest Period. Each Qualified Participant is only entitled to one (1) prize only during the Contest Period. The Organizer may at its sole discretion amend, change or extend the announcement date.

*Entries for each category must be submitted within the respective qualifying date. Otherwise, the entry will be disqualified. The Organizer may at its sole discretion amend, change or extend the qualifying dates for any of the qualifying weeks.
6.1 The name of the Winner will be published on the Kurnia Insurans Facebook page on the respective announcement date stated in paragraph 6.0 (“Announcement Date”). The Winner will also be notified by Kurnia Insurans via a Confirmation Email.
6.2 Each prize is only applicable to one (1) residential unit lawfully owned by each Winner and/or Winner’s spouse. Prize does not include insurance coverage from Kurnia Insurans.
6.3 The Organizer will send details of the collection of the prize within fourteen (14) days from the date of receipt of the Confirmation Email. If the winner is not in receipt of the Confirmation Email within the time period stipulated, the winner must contact the Organizer no later than three (3) days from the date of his/her reply to the Notification. (Note: The prize collection venue will be in Kuala Lumpur. Specific details will be given in the Confirmation Email).
6.4 The winner must be present-in-person and present the Organiser’s Confirmation Email and MyKad/MyPR for the collection of the Prize. All prizes are non-transferable to another individual and absolutely non-negotiable.
6.5 Any prize remains unclaimed after fourteen (14) days from the Confirmation Email will be forfeited by the Organizer without further reference or notice to the winner. The Organizer will not give extension of time for winner to collect the prize.
6.6 The Organizer reserves the right to substitute any prize with that of similar value, withdraw or cancel any prize at any time at their absolute discretion without assigning any reasons or giving any prior notice.
6.7 All transportation, accommodation, personal costs and/or any other costs, fees and/or related expenses that are incurred to participate in the Contest and to redeem/collect the prize are the sole responsibility of the Winner(s).
6.8 The decision as to whether the prize is to be posted or couriered to the Winner rests solely with the Organizer. Where the Organizer has decided to post/courier the prize to the winner, the Organizer will not be held liable of non-receipt of, or damages caused to, the prize during the delivery process. No replacement and/or exchange of prize will be entertained.
6.9 By participating in the Contest, all participants agree to release or hold the Organiser harmless from any and all liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind to any person or property arising from, or in connection, either directly or indirectly, with the following:
- the acceptance, receipt, possession, use or misuse of any of the prize or parts thereof awarded pursuant to the Contest; and/or
- the participation in the Contest or prize related activities.
The Intellectual Property Right (IPR) involving the Participants/Winners/Winners’ family members would be under the Organiser. The Participants/Winners/Winners’ family members are not entitled for any form of remuneration for the IPR which reflects their photos.
6.10 The Organizer makes no warranties or representations whatsoever with respect to the prizes and shall not be responsible nor liable for any problems and/or damage there to or arising there from. All Prizes are given on an “As Is” basis and are not exchangeable, transferable or redeemable for cash, credit, other items or voucher, in part or in full.
6.11 By participating in the Contest, the Contestants consent under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 to the collection, use and disclosure of the Contestants’ personal data provided by/to the Organizer, advertising or contest management agencies of the Contest and such other third party for the purpose of administering the Contest and/or any customer survey to enable understanding participants’ purchasing behaviour.
6.12 Acceptance of the prize constitutes consent by the Winner to the Organizer, its advertising or contest management agencies to do the following:
a. to use the personal data of the Winner
b. to use any photographs of the Winner shared with the Organizer by tagging Kurnia Insurans Facebook page; and/or
c. to use the Winner’s contest entries
d. for its advertising, promotional, trade and/or publicity purposes in connection with the Contest, in accordance to the Personal Data Protection Act 2010, without any prior notice to the Contestants. The Contestants shall not be entitled to claim ownership or other forms of compensation on the materials.
Other Terms & Conditions:
7.0 The Organizer’s decision on all matters relating to the Contest shall be final and binding and no further correspondence or attempt to dispute such decision would be entertained.
7.1 These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of Malaysia.
7.2 The Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook. By participating in the Contest, the participant agrees to a complete release of Facebook from any claims.
BuildEasy Terms and Conditions
8.0 Product warranty duration is valid for a period of three (3) years from the date of completion. Products that cover this aspect include: vinyl flooring, built-ins, furniture, and curtains only. Each product warranty starts from the date Project Completion Form and Handover Form are signed and submitted by the Winner. A copy of Project Completion Form will be given to the Winner for their record. Please refer to the product details to see the warranty conditions and descriptions for each product.
8.1 Claims will be examined to determine warranty coverage for all items provided by BuildEasy.
8.2 The Winner’s copy of Project Completion Form must be presented in making claims.
8.3 Upon approval of warranty claim, the product will be repaired or replaced with the same or comparable product with a value not higher than the price of the original product provided.
8.4 In the event that any repair work has been done to a product without any authorisation from BuildEasy, the product’s warranty coverage will be automatically voided.
8.5 Warranty terms and conditions are fixed, non-negotiable, non-transferable and only benefits the original purchasers of the product.
BuildEasy Warranty is not applicable:
a. To products that have been stored incorrectly, used inappropriately, abused, misused, altered, or cleaned with wrong cleaning methods or wrong cleaning products
b. To atypical wear and tear, cuts or scratches, or damage caused by impacts or accidents
c. If products have been placed outdoors or in a humid environment or if the products have been used for non-domestic purposes (unless otherwise stated)
d. To consequential or incidental damages
